The first sunshine and bank holiday weekend and our first proper food and drink festival of 2018…we couldn’t have asked for any more!
We brought the ice cream and Lancaster Food and Drink Festival (#LFDF) brought the sun soaked ice cream seekers, it was a beautiful relationship set in the super grounds of Lancaster Brewery.
Our #LFDF customers were the first to try our new artisan ice cream base from The Handmade Ice Cream Company, which is made for us using whole milk and cream from their small herd of Jersey cows in Cumbria. We think our new ice cream base is so rich and luxurious and our customers seemed to agree.
Our menu included ‘Jam Packed’ for the first time, which is a proper Jam Doughnut pushed through the ice cream base and finished with a fine raspberry sauce. Enjoying a jam doughnut this way makes it just a little easier not to lick your lips!
On the first day we got to know our neighbours, Kin Vodka, who produce a delicious toffee vodka in the Lake District. We took a shot of the vodka, added a mini meringue and pushed it through our ice cream base to produce seriously yummy and 20% proof ice cream rolls!
Woody had the pleasure of being interviewed by BBC Radio Lancashire who asked him all about ice cream rolls and their role in their homeland of Thailand. He talked them through the process live on air as they watched a tub of them being made by our team member, Ben.
Hope to see you again next year (#LFDF…not the Sunshine….we’re hoping to see more of you this year!!)
